Every perishable shipment is packed in a foil-lined insulated bag inside a sturdy shipping box, designed to maintain safe temperatures throughout transit.
Ice packs frozen for 24+ hours are layered on the top and bottom of every order. Additional packs fill any air gaps. Select producers (like Riverview Bison) may use dry ice for heavier shipments.
Every foil bag is sealed with a serialized protection sticker. If the seal is broken when you receive it, contact us immediately.
Producers take two photos per order: one showing all items with ice packs before sealing, and one of the sealed package. Photos are sent to FSD for quality control.
From the moment the package is sealed, producers have 2 hours to deliver it to the carrier for scanning. No sitting on docks. No delays.
We only use shipping services that deliver within 3 business days for perishable orders. Perishable orders ship Monday or Tuesday to avoid weekend transit.
Every meat and seafood producer on our platform operates in a USDA-inspected facility. No exceptions.
Products are vacuum-sealed to prevent freezer burn and maintain quality. All loose or butcher-paper items are plastic-wrapped before packing.
If your perishable order arrives in a condition that is not safe to consume, contact us within 48 hours with photos. We will work with the producer to replace the items or issue a full refund. See our refund policy for details.
